Mavilia, 75, of Baldwin Place, NY and a former resident of South Salem, passed away on May 9 after a brief fight with cancer.  Arlene was born November 11, 1946 in Brooklyn to the late Alfhild and Edward Anderson. She grew up in Lake Telemark, NJ and Stamford, CT before settling in South Salem’s Lake Waccabuc community. A 1967 graduate of the Greenwich Hospital Nursing School in Connecticut, Arlene worked as an RN in various capacities for over 50 years — including several years as the school nurse at John Jay High School in Cross River.
