Most recently Director of Sales at Sommerlyn Associates Real Estate, Inc., a boutique Manhattan brokerage, Mitchell was responsible for hiring, training and overseeing all transactions for a 20-person team of real estate agents.
He conducted residential and commercial transactions, and set a record condominium sale at Chelsea Stratus while simultaneously instructing and coaching other real estate professionals at the New York Real Estate Institute, a position he still holds today. Prior to his time at Sommerlyn, Mitchell was also in sales at Phillip Morris USA (now Altria Group) and a Principal/Co-Founder at Cohl-Owen & Company, a boutique marketing and branding firm that catered to campaigns for education and non-profit organizations and was ultimately purchased by CBS. His diverse business experience, coupled with his lifelong interest in buildings, history and architecture, made joining the real estate industry a logical transition. “Christopher has an obvious passion for customer service, always going above and beyond to ensure his clients meet their real estate goals,” said Lee Zipp, Brokerage Manager of Houlihan Lawrence’s Somers Office. “His continued success in real estate can be attributed to his sales, marketing and entrepreneurial background. He’s a valuable asset to our team, and I know he will continue to excel.” Currently residing in Carmel, N.Y., Mitchell is an active member of his local community, volunteering his time to the Boys & Girls Club, ASPCA and the Cornell Alumni Association.
