Woman Charged With DWI In Route 6 Stop Had BAC Twice Legal Limit

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- A 28-year-old Yorktown woman found driving with a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit is facing a felony driving while intoxicated charge, according to New York State Police.

Melissa Yambo was pulled over for speeding on Route 6 (East Main Street) on Wednesday, Feb. 17, according to state police.

She was arrested and administered a Breathalyzer test, which measured her blood alcohol content at .17 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent, according to police.

The 28-year-old was issued several tickets and later released without bail. She was to appear in Cortlandt Town Court on Monday, Feb. 22.
