SOMERS, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested a Mahopac man Tuesday on charges of possession of a forged instrument, police officials said.
Matthew Slader, 31, was accused of stealing bank checks from his ex-girlfriend and using them to make purchases at various supermarkets in Putnam and Westchester counties, State Police said.
Slader was arraigned and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000.00 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Somers Town Court on Dec. 2, according to State Police.
