Driscoll purchased guns and ammunition from Buckshollow Emergency Equipment Corp. of Putnam Valley. The business was owned by Michael Klein, who was charged in June with embezzling more than $5.7 million from the fire department. The report said most local government agents who purchased items from Buckshollow stopped in the fall of 2015.
Driscoll, however, purchased items in May of this year in a "going out of a business" sale at Buckshollow. Among the purchases were on 3,000 rounds of ammunition for two semi-automatic rifles the department had purchased elsewhere, the report said. Somers Police Department serves as backup to the New York State Police, which has primary jurisdiction in the community.
