Man Charged With Failure To Pay Fine In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 26-year-old resident of Brookfield, Conn., on a bench warrant issued by the Yorktown Justice Court for failure to pay a fine in connection with a charge of unlicensed driving and speeding, both infractions.

On July 28, a bench warrant was issued for the defendant, Justin McCurdy, after he allegedly failed to pay the fine, police report.

Yorktown police were notified that McCurdy was released from the Putnum County Department of Corrections on an unrelated charge, officials report.

On Dec. 15, police executed the warrant and took the defendant into custody at the Department of Corrections; McCurdy was then transported to Yorktown police headquarters, according to officials.

The defendant was processed and appeared in the Yorktown Justice Court, police said.

He was remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m., according to police.
