SOMERS, N.Y. - Mary Stella Libertucci died on Dec. 13 at the University of Connecticut Medical Center in Farmington, Conn., at the age of 87.
Mary was born on Dec. 5, 1925 in New York City to Anna and Joseph Catalano.
Libertucci grew up in the Bronx, where she worked at Dell Publications while still in high school. She married Paul Libertucci in 1946, just after he returned from serving with the U.S. Army during World War II.
While her children were growing up, Libertucci worked at Jackson China and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
In 1992 she and her husband moved to Heritage Hills in Somers. After her husband died, she moved to Farmington to be close to her daughter.
Libertucci is survived by her three children, Paula Stanland (Jack), Douglas Libertucci (Janice) and Steven Libertucci (Gail), five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Nat and Peter, and her sisters, Lilly and Grace.
A funeral service was held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Dec. 18.
Memorial donations in her name can be made to the charity of choice.
