SOMERS, N.Y. – James A. Rakotz, of Croton-on-Hudson, died Sunday, March 13. He was 61.
He was born in Yonkers on May 20, 1954, to Alex and Marguerite (DeClarke) Rakotz.
He worked for many years as a psychology therapist at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Smith-Rakotz; children, Alexander James, Ian Thomas and Anna Gabrielle Rakotz; parents, Alex and Marguerite Rakotz; and sisters, Barbara Clifford and Stephanie Rakotz.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m., also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital.
