SOMERS, N.Y. The Somers Womens Club's annual tag sale takes place next month, but it's not too late to piggy-back your own wares at the event. Traditionally, the fundraiser attracts over 1,000 bargain hunters.
The sale features books, childrens clothing, toys and games, household items, small furniture, jewelry and holiday and boutique items. Prizes donated by community residents and businesses will be raffled off during the day. Raffle tickets are already on sale.
The Somers Womens Club is a non-profit that conducts charitable events throughout the year. Proceeds of the tag sale, which raised about $10,000 last year, will help finance the clubs ongoing community service. In addition to local residents, the Somers Womens Club is open to women from outlying towns that do not have womens clubs of their own.
The Womens Club Tag Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, in Reis Park, Route 139, Somers.
Vendors who want to rent space at the event can call 914-276-8401 to register. If you would like to donate items to the tag sale, call 914-962-3752.
