Somers Bids Farewell to Margaret Morris, 93

SOMERS, N.Y. - Margaret Wager Morris of Heritage Hills passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, less than two months after celebrating her 93rd birthday.  

Mrs. Morris was a 1939 graduate of Cooper Union, where she studied fine arts and was a lifelong gardener, specializing in edible wild plants and mushrooms. She was executive officer of the New York Mycological Society and devoted time to other nature oriented groups. She was also an ardent bird watcher.

She was a hiker and skier well into her late years and simply loved the outdoors.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her twin daughters, Susan Butterfass (Stephen) of Croton-on-Hudson and Marion Bush (Martin) of White Plains. She is also survived by her son, Richard (Vicki) of Ringoes, NJ, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, David. Plans for Shiva have not yet been finalized.
