Golden Apple Bicycle Tour Kicks Off In Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. -- The Westchester Cycling Club will welcome some 800 cyclists on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. to participate in the Golden Apple Bicycle Tour at Best Plumbing Tile & Stone parking lot in Somers.

Cyclists will have the option of riding several different courses ranging from 25 to 100 miles.

Advance registration ends Friday, which costs $55 per cyclist. Limited day-of-race registration will be available for $65 per cyclist.

Funds raised from the race will support a local charity to be determined by the Westchester Cycling Club at its annual meeting in December.

County Executive Rob Astorino and Westchester Cycling Club director Kate Marshall will help kick off the day's festivities.
