WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- At the risk of sounding like your spouse, consider this your reminder to make your Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HRVS) reservations.

The two-week long event, a celebration of the bounty of the Hudson Valley, starts Monday, Oct. 30 and goes until Sunday, Nov. 12 and spots fill up fast.

More than 200 restaurants throughout Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan participate, allowing chefs to flaunt their best fare. Special three-course menus are $22.95 for lunch and $32.95 for dinner and often focus on seasonal ingredients.

New this year: Spotlighting the color purple, i.e. purple produce such as cauliflower, Japanese eggplant, potatoes, beets and Brussels sprouts.

Also new: A bunch of Westchester restaurants, among them Aesop's Fable in Chappaqua; Brothers Fish & Chips in Ossining; City Perch Kitchen + Bar in Dobbs Ferry, Hudson Farmer & the Fish in Sleepy Hollow, Raasa Indian in Elmsford; and Monteverde at Oldstone in Cortlandt Manor, among others.
