The Somers business is all about helping to reduce landfill and highlight American-made and local artists. There's also a strong consignment component.
The store, which opened in mid-May, allows people who are downsizing an opportunity to pollute less, pass on beautifully made and memory-laden items and benefit financially.
Said McElroy:"There is a huge movement in this country as boomers grow older and their children don't want their treasures to find a positive solution. We help."
Some of the items you'll find include a baseball American flag, mid-century modern furniture and lots of local and made in America items.
McElroy, who lives three minutes away from his shop, said there is nothing like Heritage Home Again in the area. "You'll find a mix of old and new as well as an outlet for locals to consign and buy really nice home things inexpensively."
There are also progressive timed markdowns with a return or charity option.
"The plan is to experience the store and the constant product rotations," he said.
Heritage Home Again is at 261 Route 202, 914-669-5050. The Facebook page is HERE.
