SOMERS, N.Y. -- Somerfields Restaurant, a major eatery in the heart of Somers, has closed its doors after more than two decades in business.
A notice posted at the restaurant's entrance announced the closure and thanked customers for more than 20 years of business.
Meanwhile, Somerfields' website and its Facebook page have each been taken down.
Mike DeSimone, owner of Somerfields, declined to comment on why he closed the restaurant, although he alluded to it as being an unhappy situation.
Somerfields was located at the Towne Centre At Somers, a major shopping center in the downtown area. The center has frontage on Route 100 and Route 202.
A listing from the shopping center's owner, Urstadt Biddle Properties, notes that the Somerfields' space is 4,127 square feet.
