Car Slams Into Overpass On Hutchinson River Parkway

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- It was slow going on the Hutchinson River Parkway Tuesday morning after a truck driving on the northbound side of the road illegally hit the Weaver Street overpass at 6 a.m. in New Rochelle.

One northbound lane had to be closed, causing bumper-to-bumper back-ups, and southbound traffic was slow as drivers slowed to view the accident in which no injuries were reported, said News 12.

The accident ripped the top of the trailer open, but nothing was dumped on the highway. A tow truck cleared the roadway by 9:15 a.m., added News 12.
