Police responded in force to White Plains High School after receiving an unscheduled lockdown notification from the school. The White Plains Department of Public Safety said it responded in force around 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, as is always the procedure, after receiving the notification. Man Charged In Stabbing During Overnight White Plains Street Fight A 23-year-old area man was arrested following the stabbing of another man during a street fight. Gordon Curtis Gaston, of Mount Vernon and arrested early Wednesday, shortly after police found the injured man lying in the street around 3:10 a.m., said David Chong, commissioner of the White Plains Department of Public Safety. The injured man was found after White Plains officers responded to a report of a fight involving two men at the corner of Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue, Chong said.
