The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has alerted some American workers that they face an early tax deadline.
Those in the group who did not make estimated tax payments by Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, must file their 2024 federal income tax returns and pay any taxes owed by Monday, March 3, 2025.
Due to the deadline falling on a Saturday, it has been extended from the usual Saturday, March 1, to Monday, March 3.

The US Food and Drug Administration says 9,535 cases of the company's Great Value brand 100 percent apple juice were sold in six-packs of 8-ounce plastic bottles bearing this expiration date: Best if Used by DEC2824 CT89-6, and a UPC code of 0-78742-29655-5.
According to the FDA, the product contains inorganic arsenic above the action level set in industry guidance (13.2 parts per billion).

A recall for a brand of vegetables and bagged salads has been expanded to 18 states due to possible Listeria contamination.
Ohio-based Wiers Farm began its investigation in response to the Michigan Department of Agriculture's original findings, which led to the expansion.
Products in the expanded recall were packed between Friday, July through Friday, July 12.
Vegetables that are part of the recall include cucumbers, green bell and jalapeno peppers, green beans, and cilantro.

A company is recalling packs of cupcakes because they might be contaminated with tiny fragments of metal mesh wire.
Flowers Foods, Inc. announced on Sunday, Oct. 31, that it is recalling the Tastykake multi-pack cupcakes after receiving notification from a vendor that they could be contaminated.
The recalled products were distributed in New York, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC and West Virginia, the company said.
No injuries have been linked to the recalled products, Flowers Foods said.
