Car Catches On Fire On Parkway In Westchester
An early morning vehicle blaze sent up plenty of smoke on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The fire began on Tuesday, Nov. 12 around 6 a.m. on the southbound Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor, where a vehicle went up in flames, according to the Hawthorne Fire Department, which helped fight the blaze. Arriving firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the parkway's right shoulder. No injuries were reported.

A fire inside a Northern Westchester garage soon became more complicated after spreading to the residence, nearby brush, and a vehicle containing materials that caused explosive flames. The blaze began at around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 inside a garage at a home on Giglio Court in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department. Car Engulfed In Flames On Taconic Parkway In Westchester
A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely. The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page. No injuries were reported.

SUV Goes Up In Flames On I-287 In Purchase
A lane of a busy interstate in Westchester was temporarily blocked after flames engulfed a vehicle. The blaze happened on Interstate 287 West in Purchase on Tuesday, Sept. 17 around 5:30 a.m., when an SUV caught on fire, according to the Purchase Fire Department. Arriving crews found the vehicle in the right lane at mile marker 7.5 and soon put the fire out. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was later towed from the area.
