2 People Rescued After Cars Crash, Flip Into Swift Water Below Parkway In Westchester Two people had to cross a ladder over fast-moving water to get to safety after their cars crashed and overturned next to a stream during heavy rain in Northern Westchester.  The rescue happened on Sunday, Aug. 18 at around 4:30 p.m., when two vehicles crashed and flipped on the Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown, eventually ending up in a stream 100 feet off the road, according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department.  Because of heavy rain that had just passed through the area, the normally small stream had turned into a "swift water scenario," the department said, …

2 Hospitalized After Crash On Busy Parkway In Westchester Two people were taken to a trauma center after a serious crash on a parkway entrance ramp in Northern Westchester, including one person who had to be rescued from a vehicle.  The crash happened on Monday, July 15, when two cars collided on the Taconic State Parkway southbound entrance ramp leading from Crompond Road (Route 202) in Yorktown, according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department. 2-Car Crash Sends Person To Trauma Center, Causes Vehicle To Flip In Westchester One person was sent to a hospital following a two-car crash that left a vehicle overturned near a busy expressway in Northern Westchester.  The crash happened on Friday, June 23 around 9:45 p.m. in Croton-on-Hudson on Municipal Place near the entrance ramp to State Route 9, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  When crews arrived at the scene of the crash, they found one vehicle had overturned. Suspect At Large After Westchester Shooting Police are searching for a suspect that shot and critically injured a 33-year-old man in Westchester County. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 in Yonkers near 16 Fortfield Ave. According to the Yonkers Police, when officers arrived on the scene they found a 33-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest; the man was transported to a local area trauma center and is currently in critical condition.
