Wrong-Way Crash: Bar Receipts, Social Media Lead To Arrest After Woman, 25, Killed In Danbury
A months-long investigation aided by bar receipts and social media posts led to the arrest of a man in connection with a wrong-way alleged drunk driving Connecticut crash that took the life of a young Fairfield County woman.
The crash happened on Route 7 in Danbury around 2 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 in the southbound lane just north of Exit 7.
The victim, Danielle Dempsey, age 25, of Danbury, was driving a gray 2005 Honda Accord when a black 2018 Dodge Challenger driving in the wrong direction struck her vehicle head-on, Connecticut State Police said.

Four men are facing weapons charges after State Police allegedly busted a speeding driver on a Westchester County highway.
Troopers first spotted the suspect’s vehicle at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, as it drove through Yonkers on the Sprain Brook Parkway.

The final tally is in, and New York State Police troopers dished out more than 12,000 tickets and arrested nearly 150 motorists for alleged impaired driving, authorities announced.
Between Wednesday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Nov. 28, New York State Police issued 12,975 tickets during their annual Thanksgiving holiday traffic enforcement period, down slightly from the previous year’s campaign.

A speeding driver in Westchester is facing charges after being busted by police with a blood alcohol concentration more than double the legal limit, authorities announced.
An officer from the Scarsdale Police Department on stationary speeding patrol at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 stopped a driver who was caught speeding southbound on Post Road, prompting a traffic stop.

New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley dished out hundreds of tickets during Memorial Day Weekend to everyone from impaired motorists to speeding drivers.
