Westchester Man Accused Of Supplying Heroin, Fentanyl That Led To Fatal Overdoses
Nine suspects - including a man from Westchester - are facing charges for an alleged drug trafficking operation that led to fatal overdoses in Westchester and the Bronx. The charges are against nine alleged members of a criminal organization that trafficked in heroin and the potent synthetic opioid fentanyl in the Soundview section of the Bronx and in Westchester, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A Westchester man was the alleged ringleader of a local drug distribution ring that was broken up when the DEA and NYPD seized nearly $10 million in narcotics. New York City's Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced the indictment of five people, including four who were linked to a wholesale heroin and fentanyl distribution network in the Bronx. An elderly doctor and his wife, who called Westchester home are heading to prison after being busted running a black market pill mill that “pumped out” more than $77 million in painkillers onto the black market over the course of several years. Scarsdale residents Rogelio Lucas, 80, and his wife, Lydia Lucas, 82, who operated a medical practice on the Upper West Side, were found guilty of distributing approximately 3.2 million pills of Oxycodone, which flooded the streets of Manhattan. A Westchester County man was among more than two dozen busted by ICE on drug and gambling charges following a wiretap investigation. Thirty-two people were arrested Friday on drug and gambling charges following an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations in New York and the NYPD.
