These Hudson Valley Roadways To Be Repaved As Part Of $100M Project
Thanks to $100 million in new funding, over 560 miles of roadway across the state of New York will be repaved to make them more resilient to freak weather events. The $100 million investment, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced, will support repaving projects on nearly 568 miles of busy roadways throughout the Hudson Valley, Capital Region, Long Island, and more. Residents throughout the Hudson Valley are being asked to remain at home while clean-up from last night's storms continues. On Thursday, Sept. 2, police said many roadways are closed in Westchester County due to flooding, including: The Sprain Brook Parkway is closed at Central Avenue in Yonkers. School Bus Driver Dies From Injuries Sustained In Hudson Valley Crash
A school bus driver who was critically injured in a crash with a tree truck in October has died. Andy Sanchez, who has worked in Orange County in the Washingtonville School District and drove students from Little Britain Elementary School in New Windsor, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, from his injuries, said Larry Washington, Superintendent of Schools "It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the tragic loss of Andy Sanchez, a Washingtonville school bus driver of nine years," said Washington in a letter to the district.
