Car Stolen From Quiet Residential Westchester Road
Police are investigating an early morning vehicle theft that took place on a quiet residential street in Westchester. The theft happened on Thursday morning, Sept. 19 on the 100 block of Corlies Avenue in the Village of Pelham, according to the village's police department. A 21-year-old man who was found asleep at the wheel at a Westchester McDonald’s is facing a host of charges after allegedly drinking, driving, fighting with police, crashing, and being busted with a stolen handgun. Westchester Elementary School Evacuated For Gas Smell
A Westchester elementary school had to be temporarily evacuated when the smell of gas was reported in the area. Colonial Elementary School in Pelham was evacuated as a precaution at approximately noon on Friday, Sept. 27, when there was reports of the smell of gas near the building. Members from the Pelham Fire Department, Pelham Police Department and Con Edison all responded to the scene to investigate the gas odor. Police in Pelham are warning area residents to be on the lookout after a suspicious suspect was caught on camera attempting to enter cars parked in a driveway. Investigators released video of the suspect, who was caught on camera overnight on Monday, Sept. 16. First responders in Pelham helped save a house after an electrical fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon.
