Firefighter, 2 Others Injured In Blaze At Westchester Eatery
A basement fire at a popular Westchester eatery resulted in three people being injured, including a firefighter who was hospitalized. The incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 8 just after 10 a.m., when the Larchmont Fire Department responded to an active basement fire at Bagels by Sofia located at 145 Chatsworth Ave. According to the department, arriving crews found plenty of smoke pouring from the eatery and upon entering, discovered heavy flames in the basement. Icy road conditions caused a massive pile-up on a Westchester highway involving at least 35 vehicles. The crash took place around 5:45 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 5, when the Pelham Fire Department responded with the Westchester County Police and other fire departments to a crash on the Hutchinson River Parkway North in the area of Pelhamdale Avenue. Police ID Westchester Woman Who Crashed Into Creek After Stopping For Gas
Police have identified a Westchester woman who died after driving her vehicle into a creek and drowning despite heroic efforts by first responders. Sandra Fuller, age 63, of Mount Vernon, drove her gray Jeep Cherokee through a fence and plunged at least 20 feet down a ravine and into Eastchester Creek on Friday, June 4 after she had stopped for gas.
