Beloved Former Teacher In Westchester Dies A former teacher who worked for schools in both Northern Westchester and Fairfield County has died.  Margaret "Peggy" Beccaria died on Sunday, Jan. 15 at the age of 85, according to her obituary.  A native of New Canaan, Beccaria graduated from high school there before attending college at Western Connecticut State University. The passionate animal lover, especially dogs, died following a fall at Bridal Veil Falls in the Platte Cove area of the Catskills while hiking, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation. He was born on December 27, 1928 in Mount Kisco to Esther and Frank Beccaria. He attended school in Pound Ridge and Katonah and then served four years in the Navy in Korea.
