A man wanted in connection with an attempted Hudson Valley bank robbery was nabbed by police.
Orange County resident Basil Martusevich, age 56, of the town of Newburgh, was caught around 10:45 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4.
The attempted robbery took place in the town of Newburgh around 5 p.m. Friday at the Bank of America, located at 1414 Route 300, said Lt. Peter Talarico.
During the attempted robbery, Martusevich threatened a teller with a gun and then fled the scene, Talarico said.

On Sunday, Oct. 16, police started investigating allegations that Orange County resident Jesus Torres, age 31, of Goshen, had sexual conduct with a child less than 13 years old, and learned that he had fled the state to avoid being arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 18, according to New York State Police.

A state trooper is facing multiple charges after police say he sexually abused a victim known to him.
Orange County resident Matthew A. Stivala, age 32, of the Town of Monroe, was arrested on Saturday, July 23, and charged with:
Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse (a Class D felony),
First-degree criminal sex act (a Class B felony),
Forcible touching (misdemeanor).
The charges stem from multiple incidents involving Stivala and the victim, police said.

Orange County resident Jairo Garcia, age 31, of Newburgh, was arrested Wednesday, May 18, following an investigation by Orange County Child Protective Services and New York State Police.
Investigators accused him of engaging in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13.

A Hudson Valley grandmother has pleaded guilty to assaulting her baby granddaughter, causing the child to go blind.
Orange County resident Kimberly Bennett, age 45, of Middletown, made the plea on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
