Search Resumes For 2 Swimmers Missing In Candlewood Lake An extensive search and rescue mission will resume early on Tuesday, July 16, for two men who jumped from a boat in a Fairfield County lake and never resurfaced. The incident occurred in Danbury at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Candlewood Lake in the area of City Island. According to Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Fire Department, it was reported that two men had jumped off a boat into the lake and disappeared. Henry said rescue crews immediately began search and rescue efforts, using boats equipped with sonar and underwater imaging equipment to help locate the men. H…

Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-287 in Rye at about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, New York State Police reported. The driver, identified as Luis Perez Paredes, of New Fairfield, Connecticut, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested, authorities said.  Police said Perez Paredes was found to have a BAC of .20 percent. Meteorologist Jack Drake shared photos and videos on his Facebook page of a large moose that was spotted at the AMC movie theater in Danbury on Monday, Sept. 26. Drake reported that the moose was also seen in Woodbury and Newtown. The incident took place around 3:10 p.m., Thursday, June 2 in New Fairfield, said police. State Police from the Brewster barracks issued an alert on Wednesday for 42-year-old Angela Cioffi, who is wanted on charges that include second-degree forgery and petit larceny stemming back to her 2013 arrest for forging checks.
