Covid-19: Three More NY Residents Identified As Being Infected With Omicron Variant
Omicron, the new strain of COVID-19 that has caused worldwide alarm the last week, has now been detected in eight New York residents.
On Saturday, Dec. 4, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced three more cases have been identified, two days after the state announced its first five cases.
So far, the cases appear unrelated and have been confirmed through sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, according to the New York State Health Department.
All three of the new cases are from New York City.

Man Admits To Stealing Van At Hospital In NY, Burglarizing CT Post Office
A man moved quickly after being discharged from a Manhattan hospital, stealing a van before breaking into a Fairfield County post office and attempting to steal packages.
Leon Clinedinst, 37, formerly of Ocala, Florida, pleaded guilty this week in Bridgeport Court to one count of burglary of a U.S. post office, and one count of interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle following an incident in January.

Nearly 10,000 Suffer From 9/11 Cancers, Report Says
As the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks approaches, nearly 10,000 people have suffered cancers linked to the toxic dust, smoke and plumes at Ground Zero, the New York Post reported here on Sunday, Aug. 12.
The federal World Trade Center Health Program has counted 9,795 first responders, Downtown workers, residents, students and others with cancer "deemed 9/11-related," the Post reported.
