Shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 24-year-old Valley Road resident Sinying Lin was involved in a minor crash on Montrose Road in Scarsdale, near the Greenacres Elementary School, when she backed her Volvo into a Toyota that was parked next to her. Lin proceeded to get out of the car to assess the damage that was done, when the Volvo rolled toward the second car, pinning her in the middle, leaving her with undisclosed injuries. Patrol officers were dispatched to Kingston Road on Sunday afternoon, on reports of a stolen 2008 Kia Sportage that was registered to a Hartsdale resident, who reported the vehicle stolen days earlier. Officers canvassed neighboring properties on Kingston and Montrose Road to determine when the vehicle had been left, though local residents were only able to tell police that it had been parked on Kingston Road for several days.
