Injured Hiker Rescued From Park In Westchester
First responders were seen rushing to a park in Northern Westchester to help out an injured hiker stranded in the woods. The rescue happened on Friday, Aug. 24 around 4:15 p.m., when first responders learned a hiker was injured and stuck in the woods at the back of Gedney Park in Chappaqua, according to the Millwood Fire Department. Arriving crews brought a backboard and stokes to the hiker's location and safely took them out of the woods. The hiker was later loaded on an awaiting ambulance, the department added.

Car Fire Nearly Spreads To Garage At Home In Westchester
Thanks to quick action from firefighters, a Northern Westchester home remained unscathed after a car burst into flames inside its garage. The blaze began on Tuesday, July 30, just before 7 p.m., when a vehicle went up in flames inside a Chappaqua residence on North Way, according to the Chappaqua Fire Department. Longtime Ossining resident Raymond Lips, the former chief of the Millwood Fire Department and life member, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 9 at the age of 68, according to his obituary.
