The US State Department has a real “whodunnit” on its hands as it attempts to locate a costly bottle of whiskey that was gifted to former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo by the Japanese government during the Trump Administration. In a notice posted to the Federal Register, the whereabouts of a $5,800 bottle of whiskey gifted by the government of Japan in 2019 is listed as “pending,” though it is unclear if Pompeo ever took possession of the gift. U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, a Democrat who represents Rockland and Westchester counties, criticized President Trump's new record-low cap on how many refugees are allowed into the United States.
