A 71-year-old man was charged in connection with a Northern Westchester hit-run after police were able to use paint chips left behind at the scene to identify his vehicle. The man's arrest stemmed from an incident on Tuesday, March 12 just before 7:45 p.m., when North Castle Police found a 65-year-old man covered in blood lying in Old Mount Kisco Road between Main Street and Eden Hunt Place in Armonk, according to the department. Things did not work out well for a drunk man who left a Hudson Valley restaurant after refusing to pay his bill and then hit a fence while driving away, police said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Thursday, April 20 just before 2 p.m., when police in Carmel received a report that a possibly intoxicated man had just left a local restaurant after refusing to pay his bill and had struck a fence with his vehicle while trying to drive away, according to Carmel Police Lieutenant Michael Bodo. An off-duty police officer in the Hudson Valley has been accused of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash. Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 29, officers in Orange County investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 211 East and Ballard Road in the Town of Wallkill.
