Man Nabbed For Tire Dumping Incidents In Westchester County Parks
Police say officers arrested a man as he was allegedly preparing to dump a load of tires on a county parkland in Westchester County. Jose Rivera-Osorio, age 38, of the Bronx, was arrested early Tuesday, May 25, after Yonkers Police observed a U-Haul truck near the entrance to county property off Midland Avenue, said Kieran O'Leary of the Westchester County Police. Due to the recent illegal dumping incidents, Westchester County Police were notified and responded to the scene. The U-Haul was found to contain a load of tires and was impounded by patrol officers. Body Pulled From Hudson River Off Westchester
The remains of a man were recovered from the Hudson River after a boater reported observing a body floating in the river. The body was discovered around 2:50 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, after county police were notified that the boater had seen the body off the coast of Irvington, said Westchester County Police Spokesman Kieran O'Leary. The Westchester County Police Marine Unit responded, located the body and brought his remains aboard a Marine Unit patrol boat. White Plains Woman Charged With Assaulting Bus Driver
Following a five-week investigation, a Westchester woman was arrested and charged with assaulting a Bee-Line bus driver last month outside the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, Westchester County Police said. Johniazia Torres, 24, of White Plains was charged with second-degree assault, a felony. She was arraigned Friday, July 19 in Mount Pleasant Town Court and released on her own recognizance.
