A woman’s life was saved thanks to careful action from officers who stopped her from falling from the roof of a Westchester parking garage. The rescue happened on Wednesday, Jan. 31 just before 9:30 a.m., when Yonkers Police responded to the roof of a parking garage within the city’s 4th Precinct where a woman was threatening to jump, the department announced on Friday, Feb. 2. Inflatable Jump Bag Used To Save Woman From Bridge Over I-287 In White Plains
Thanks to a coordinated effort between first responders and police, as well as an inflatable jump bag, a woman was saved from a bridge over a highway in Westchester. The incident happened on Saturday, July 29 just after 7 a.m., when Westchester County Police, the White Plains Fire Department, and White Plains Police were sent to help a distraught woman who was threatening to jump from the Anderson Hill Road bridge over Interstate 287 in White Plains. Cops Posed As TV News Crew To End Upstate Hostage Situation
A hostage situation at a New York gas station finally ended after police posed as a TV news crew and pretended to interview the suspect, News10 ABC in Albany reports. Troy Police were called to the Stewart’s Shops convenience store on Vandenburgh Avenue at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, June 2, with reports of a hostage situation, police said. Barricaded Suspect Surrenders After Five-Hour White Plains Standoff
An attempt to serve a warrant in Westchester turned into a five-hour standoff when the man allegedly barricaded himself inside his home with a knife. The incident began around 5:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, when the Yonkers Police Department attempted to serve a warrant to Antonio Valez, age 43, of White Plains, said White Plains Public Safety Chief Joseph Castelli. Man Found Dead After Police Standoff In Westchester
A man who allegedly threatened an employee at a business in Westchester died following a standoff in which he fired shots at officers, authorities announced. Just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, officers were dispatched to 11 Livingston Avenue in Yonkers to check on the welfare of a man following a report that he had made threats to an employee of an insurance company.
