New update - Fatal Hit-Run In Westchester: Victim ID'd, Unlicensed 24-Year-Old Suspect Nabbed Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-run incident that left a man dead in Westchester. The incident happened on Friday, June 23 just after 9:30 a.m., when a 78-year-old man was struck by a vehicle in Yonkers while crossing Executive Boulevard west of Nepperhan Avenue near the Consumer Report building, according to Yonkers Police Detective Lieutenant Dean Politopoulos. Ford Issues Recall For Vehicles Due To Explosive Airbags
Ford has lost track of some potentially dangerous airbags that can explode, hurling deadly shrapnel at drivers, prompting a recall approximately150,000 vehicles. The auto manufacturer announced this week that the company lost track of nearly four dozen airbags that may have been installed in older Ranger pickup trucks and could be a potential hazard for motorists. According to Ford, the airbags were not taken out of the stock of service parts and could have been used in crash or theft repairs. An Audi that was stolen from a Mount Vernon service center was recovered on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester this week. The car was stolen from the Classic Audi service center on North MacQuesten Parkway, after its owner dropped off the vehicle on Saturday following an airbag recall that was announced earlier this year. Police said that the car was found on Tuesday afternoon on the Saw Mill River Parkway and an arrest was made.
