Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket will now open on Friday, May 9, the resort's website said. The 92,000-square-foot park next to Foxwoods was previously anticipating to welcome guests on Friday, May 23. The $300 million resort is part of a partnership with the Pequot tribe. The 13-acre property promises year-round indoor water fun and family-friendly attractions. 3 Hudson Valley Companies Announce Around 300 Layoffs Several hundred Hudson Valley workers will lose their jobs as three companies, either close, merge or cutback on production. The companies, all located in Orange County, Frito-Lay and Gen-Pak, both in Middletown, and Amscan in Newburgh, filed WARN Notices with the state that inform them of upcoming layoffs. Frito-Lay said it would lay off 88 workers beginning on Friday, Aug. 30 due to construction projects at the plant.
