5 Adults, Young Child Evacuated From Burning Home In Westchester Fire officials are investigating a blaze at a Westchester home that left several people, including young children, displaced.  The blaze began on Saturday, Oct. 5 just after 5 p.m., when a home at 439 Homestead Ave. in Mount Vernon caught on fire, according to city officials.  Five adults and two children, including a 7-year-old, were inside the house when the blaze began. Luckily though, firefighters were able to safely get them all out.
