Lawyer From Westchester Dies At 37: 'Made Instant Impression On Everyone'
A lawyer who grew up in Westchester is being remembered for his outgoing personality and ability to make a lasting impression on anyone he met. Charles Michael Kunz, a native of Rye, died on Friday, April 21 at the age of 37, according to his obituary. Born in Rye in 1985, Kunz graduated from Rye High School in 2003 and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in 2006. Hit-Run Crash: Suspect Nabbed In Harrison After State Police Cruiser Struck On I-684
A New York State Police vehicle was damaged by a hit-and-run driver while the trooper was stopped on I-684 helping another motorist in Northern Westchester. The incident took place in Bedford around 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26. Trooper AJ Hicks said the crash occurred while the trooper was stopped in the southbound lane of I-684 assisting another driver when a gold Lexus SUV struck the passenger side of the police cruiser. Nancy Elliott, Yorktown's first female supervisor, died Thursday, July 11 in Hillsborough, North Carolina. She was 89. "We are saddened to learn of the passing of Nancy Elliott, a former chair of the Yorktown Republican Town Committee and political legend who served 12 years as Yorktown supervisor from 1980 to 1992," Yorktown Republican Town Committee chair Christopher Arnold said in a statement. Wegmans Edges Close To 100 Stores With New Westchester Location Coming
Wegmans Food Markets, which will soon be unveiling a location in Westchester, is now just two stores from having 100. That means the family-owned supermarket chain based in Rochester, will open its 100th store in 2019. Wegmans has plans for 14 other new stores in the next two years, including one along Westchester Avenue in Harrison near three major highways -- I-684, I-287 and I-95 -- as reported here by Daily Voice.
