A Northern Westchester man who tried driving away after rear-ending a car was instead arrested after the victim refused to let him escape and gave chase, police said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Sunday, April 2 around 4:30 p.m., when two vehicles were involved in a rear-end accident in Carmel at the intersection of Route 6 and Croton Falls Road and one of the vehicles tried to leave the scene, according to Carmel Police. A Northern Westchester man faces charges after allegedly stealing an ATV in front of a Hudson Valley business owner, police said. The incident happened on Thursday, March 2, when police responded to a local business in Carmel where the ATV had been stolen from. According to Carmel Police, the business's owner told officers that he had been working on a customer's ATV when he went inside his shop to grab a tool. A Northern Westchester man faces drug charges after allegedly being caught snorting cocaine in the parking lot of a Hudson Valley restaurant. On Thursday, March 9, a police detective in Putnam County was on patrol in Carmel when he saw an occupied car in the back parking lot of PJ's Restaurant located at 85 US Route 6. Police are asking residents to avoid a neighborhood in the Hudson Valley where firefighters are battling a brush fire. The fire broke out in Putnam County on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 15, in the area of Tulip Road in Mahopac, according to Carmel Police. The fire itself is in a wooded area and poses no immediate threat to homes, but the smoke has spread through the neighborhood. Police are asking people to avoid the area as the fire is put out. A report of a possible blaze at a Hudson Valley strip mall sent numerous police and fire departments to make sure the building was safe. Three people were saved after their boat capsized in a Hudson Valley reservoir. On Wednesday, Nov. 2 around 12 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the Croton Falls Reservoir in Carmel in the area of Hemlock Dam Road after a boat containing three people capsized, according to Mahopac fire officials. Local Man Charged In Hudson Valley Cemetery Boat Dumping Incident
A man has been charged after a boat was allegedly illegally dumped near a cemetery in the Hudson Valley. The 19-foot boat was dumped in Putnam County on Friday, Sept. 2 in the area of the Union Valley Cemetery in Carmel. According to Lt. Michael Bodo of the Carmel Police, responding officers found a Sunbird Corsair dumped on cemetery property. Man With Gun Apprehended After Dispute In Hudson Valley
A man was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun during a dispute in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Putnam County around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 in Mahopac. According to Lt. Michael Bodo, of the Carmel Police, officers were dispatched to the area of 912 Route 6 in Mahopac for a possible person with a gun.
