Two women's prisons in Northern Westchester are involved in a civil lawsuit being filed against the state of New York alleging that several incidents of sexual assaults happened at the facilities. New York State Police are investigating the apparent suicide of an inmate at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Melaine T. Liverpool, 33, was found dead around 3:44 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, at the facility located at 247 Harris Road in Bedford, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
