SCARSDALE, N.Y. The Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale is inviting 3- and 4-year-olds to a condensed day of preschool, taught by the schools faculty.
At 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, prospective students are invited to a 90-minute adventure that will feature an abridged version of the activities one would usually enjoy on a normal day. There will be an art project, story time and a free play period.
The preschool for a day program gives parents of future pupils the opportunity to meet with the Hoff-Barthelson staff, to see the facility and to discover why the preschool offers quality early childhood education.
There are separate half-day programs for 3 and 4-year-olds in an environment that promotes physical, social, emotional and cognitive development in children. The experienced staff helps them get prepared for kindergarten.
Children are involved in a full curriculum, with an emphasis on music and art, which introduces numbers, language arts, science, cooking and various styles of play. There are music and movement classes twice a week, featuring classes in Dalcroze eurhythmics.
