According to state Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Scarsdale), New Rochelle will be holding a concert on Sept. 25, the same day other concerts for the cause will be held across the country.
Paulin said the combined concert effort aims to draw attention to “the epidemic of gun violence that has claimed the lives of so many.”
The local concert is to take place at the Hudson Park Bandshell in New Rochelle from noon-7 p.m. on Sept. 25, Paulin said, adding that she is working with the city to organize the event.
Among those set to perform are the New Rochelle High School Choir, Larger Than Life, Jim Murtagh and Band, Skinny Blonde, and the Troubadour-to-Door/Alex Forbes.
Paulin said the event is to feature a variety of food as well and will provide for great times for those who attend.
“It’s a fantastic way to come together as a community and make our voices heard as we look to bring an end to gun violence not only in Westchester, but across the country,” Paulin said in a statement.
According to Paulin, Sept. 25 has been Congressionally designated as a Day of Remembrance of Murder Victims.
