Officers were dispatched to a Tompkins Road home at approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24 when a 33-year-old landscaper working on the property got into a disagreement with 19-year-old Robben Agustin over grass clippings.
The 33-year-old told responding officers that he was cutting grass and had a verbal dispute with Agustin, who took exception to the clippings moving in his direction, according to police.
Agustin then stopped using his weed whacker and punched his victim once in the left side of his face, police said. The blow caused swelling to the landscaper’s face, a cut lip and a tooth to be knocked out of place. Both his lips were also swollen and bloody.
Agustin was placed in handcuffs and charged with third-degree assault with intent to cause physical harm, a misdemeanor. He was later released and is due back in court on Wednesday.
