On Friday, Erika Mollin, 41, was driving on Saxon Woods Road where witnesses saw her strike a street sign and land in some bushes. After failing to back out of the foliage, she then left the truck and was “walking in the backyards of residences in the vicinity of 48 Secor Road,” according to the police report.
According to police, when Mollin was tracked down, officers detected the scent of alcohol on her breath. Following a field sobriety test that netted mixed results for the suspect, it was determined that she had a blood alcohol content of .09 percent, narrowly more than the legal limit.
During processing, police found two orange pills in Mollin’s bag that tested positive as methamphetamine. She was also in possession of xanax that was prescribed to her.
Mollin was charged with a felony charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated and operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content above .08 percent. She was also charged with infractions for the accident.
