SCARSDALE, N.Y. - A suspect was busted by police attempting to use a fraudulent credit card at a Scarsdale CVS over the weekend.

Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to CVS on Popham Road shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, when a store manager reported a larceny in progress involving two men.

Upon arrival at the store, police met with both of the location’s managers, who stated that two men had entered the store and one was suspected of larceny, having just left to travel east on Popham Road, while the other attempted to pay for items with a fraudulent credit card.

After receiving a description of the man, officers tracked down a man from Brooklyn who the manager confirmed was the suspect. While interviewing the first suspect, it was determined that the second suspect, 24-year-old Brooklyn resident Larry Brand used the illegal credit card, and he was later tracked down near the intersection of East Parkway and Popham Road.

Brand was arrested following an investigation and charged with a felony count of criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail. He is due back in Scarsdale justice Court later this year to answer the charge.
