Scarsdale detectives, members FBI’s Bank Robbery Task Force, the Westchester County Police and the District Attorney’s Financial Crimes Division have been busy reviewing video of the Webster Bank robbery, which has now been made to the public.
Investigators are still have not reveled how much money the suspect made off with.
The suspect – believed to be Caucasian, approximately 6-feet tall and 200 pounds – walked into the bank shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday sporting a yellow hat, long sleeves and sunglasses, demanding cash. According to Scarsdale Police Capt. Thomas Altizio, he presented no weapon, and no injuries were reported.
In photos released by police, the robber can be seen handing a note that reads “GIVE ME ALL YOUR (…)” before taking off with the money.
After stealing the cash, the suspect ran east onto Popham Road, where he was sought by police using bloodhounds to track him. As of Monday morning, no arrest had been made in the robbery.
“The suspect did obtain cash from the teller, but at this point in the investigation we are not disclosing the amount,” Scarsdale Police Capt. Thomas Altizio said. “The investigation is very active with DNA samples being submitted to the Westchester County Forensic Lab and hours of surveillance video from all around the downtown area being analyzed, with more video expected to come in later today.”
