Police Investigating String Of Larcenies From Vehicles In Scarsdale

SCARSDALE, N.Y. - Detectives in Scarsdale are investigating a series of auto larcenies after several village residents reported that their vehicles had been entered overnight.

Police were notified by residents on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 that their cars had been entered, and various items and loose change had been taken from glove boxes and center consoles.

in total, 11 cars were entered and an undisclosed amount of change was stolen. Other items taken from cars parked in the driveway of residences on Church Lane, Rodney Road, Rochambeau Road, Windsor Lane, Madison Road, Nelson Road, Barry Road and Hamilton Road.

Police said that an Eastwoods Lane resident reported that an unknown man was attempting to enter his vehicle at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 12. The man was described as being between 30 and 40 years old with a bald head. He was wearing a camouflage jacket and backpack with khaki pants. He was spotted approaching the vehicle, looking side to side and then entering a side door. When approached, police said the man fled quickly.
