Police investigators in Westchester are seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect wanted for an alleged larceny of a cellphone at Home Depot.

The New Rochelle Police Department issued an alert for a man who allegedly stole a woman’s phone shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29 at Home Depot on Weyman Avenue.

According to police, the woman accidentally left her cellphone at the self checkout area after making a purchase. The man caught on camera allegedly used the same register, and pocketed the phone when he noticed it.

Investigators said that the suspect then proceeded to exit the store with the phone, making no effort to notify anyone at the store of its recovery.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or who has information regarding the stolen cellphone has been asked to contact New Rochelle Police Det. Sgt. Kevin Perri by calling (914) 654-2282 and referencing case number 19004729.
