Suspect Charged in Scarsdale Easter Robberies

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A White Plains robbery suspect was arrested Sunday afternoon after a foot chase through a Mamaroneck Road neighborhood.

A Brite Avenue resident called Scarsdale Police about 2:50 p.m. Sunday to report he had been robbed, according to a press release issued Sunday night by the Scarsdale Police Department. The call came 20 minutes after a woman walked into police headquarters to report she had been menaced and assaulted by a man on Greenacres Avenue who threatened her and attempted to enter her vehicles, the release stated.

As police searched the Brite Avenue area, a Post Road resident called to report being robbed. Police went to the scene and called in a canine unit from New Rochelle. The man was spotted outside a Mamaroneck Road residence by Scarsdale officers, who caught him after a foot chase and placed him under arrest, according to the release.

Edwardo Mendoza Zepeda of 86 East Post Road in White Plains is charged with multiple counts of first degree burglary, robbery in the second degree, attempted assault, menacing, criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

The investigation into all three incident is continuing and additional charges are expected to be filed, according to the press release.
