Scarsdale Practice Welcomes New Dermatologist

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Dr. Andreas Boker has joined Dermatology Consultants of Westchester in Scarsdale. Andreas Boker, MD, FAAD, a board-certified dermatologist and surgeon with a specialty in the removal of skin cancers from the face, eyelids and ears.

Boker completed a postgraduate year in surgery at Tufts Medical Center, followed by a clinical fellowship in dermatology at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital.

He was chief resident for his dermatology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and subsequently completed his fellowship in procedural and Mohs micrographic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.

Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery is a specialized technique that offers the highest cure rate and is a preferred procedure for the removal of skin cancers where tissue preservation is of utmost importance including on the face, eyelids, and ears.

Boker also specializes in cosmetic dermatology, such as chemical peels, laser surgery and cosmetic fillers.

Boker has particular interest in clinical research and has won numerous international grants including the Cutting Edge Research grant from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

He worked as director of clinical research in Miami, Fla., for cosmetic dermatologist Fredric Brandt, MD, where he pioneered new uses for Botox and conducted FDA trials that led to the FDA approval of various filler materials. He has authored many scientific research papers, book chapters and review articles, and is a speaker at national and international events.

Boker is fluent in Spanish, French, German, as well as English.
